For the last couple of years after tasting all the wine in barrels, we pick one barrel to bottle on its own, rather than blending together with the rest of our wine. The barrel we choose each year is selected for the wines individual character and complexity. We then bottle as a small run equating to aproximately 272 bottles.
This year barrel 206 was the lucky barrel to be chosen. A new French, extra toasted oak barrel containing 2020 Chambourcin grapes from our organic block.
Full bodied, smooth velvety tannins with bright youthful fruit.
This is a wine for those who like to put a few bottles away in the cellar for a couple of years allowing the wine to age and develop to its full potential.
